I'm Dr. Denise Simpson, and I will guide you through five principles that restore your wholeness and call you back to your original assignment. Join me now so we can go deeper. It's time to find your way back. What did you all think of the new intro? Oh my goodness. I just re-recorded that and uploaded it and I'm so excited for how it turned out. I just wanted to get very specific in reminding you that you were born to lead. And because of these toxic leadership models, because of the workplace trauma, because that is a thing, my friends. that you've forgotten why you said yes to leadership. And my job as your coach is to remind you of that. And we do that every time we meet for this podcast show. So some changes that are happening. I'm excited to share them with you. Today we are closing out season number three. Season three is now wrapping up today together right here, right now. We are wrapping this up with a gorgeous bowl and we are putting it, on the side. We're done. Season three was filled with so many interesting developments behind the scenes. Every time I show up, I'm motivated by an emotion. Yep. I'm an emotional authority in human design and a manifester at that in human design. And so throat and emotional authority are my defined centers. So if you know what that means, you know who I am. That explains everything. That'll explain everything for you. But for me, every time I show up, I get an idea. I'm in the shower. I'm working out. I'm doing something. I'm running. I'm cooking or something. And I think of... something that has stirred me up. It could be an injustice. It could be unfairness. It could be a story of someone being demoted unfairly. It could be one of my clients who's going through a transition in their lives. It could be something that I read, something that I saw, something that really stirred me up. And I get excited about that topic. I want to share it with you on the podcast show. And so my emotions drive the outline of these episodes. So as many of you know, I don't batch content like this. like people do, I show up right here in my home office and I record for you about two to three days before I publish on Mondays. And so usually it's like a Friday night I'm recording or a Saturday afternoon, or sometimes as late as Sunday, I'm recording something for you to publish by midnight at that Monday for you. And so that's how I've been running. That's just how I've been working through this behind the scenes. And so I wanted to share that with you because I want to change that up a little bit in maybe doing some live. podcast shows with you. I mean, live, live, like as in, hey, meet me Thursday at eleven a.m. Central Time on either LinkedIn, YouTube or Facebook and we can have a live chat together. And I'm I'm really excited about offering that for season four. So we're going to wrap up season three. for many, many reasons, but also I'm so excited for this new program that I'm opening, this new idea that is stirring in me, the ascending that we do after we have gone to the descent when we've anchored ourselves and then we ascend back into the world. I'm excited about that whole process. I'm excited about integrative leadership approach, a new approach that I'm working on right now. I'm excited about that too, to continue also the contemplative practices that we have been sharing throughout our time together. So, so much is happening behind the scenes and And I'm ready to close this chapter of this podcast season. And for many reasons, you can imagine the emotional maturity that it takes to process life challenges, hardships, problems. failures, disappointments. And I'm not immune to any of that. I'm not immune, even though I have a masterful tool, you know, toolbox. I've got a toolbox of the most, you know, incredible tools to get me through anything, really, honestly. I've developed my toolbox over twenty-seven years in this industry and helping leaders and I myself needing to help myself, right? I needed to invest in my growth and my expansion. And I continue to do that because I'm not immune to hardships just because I have the tools. Sometimes it's harder, right, to read the directions while you're inside the medicine bottle. right? Think about that one. I'm inside that bottle and I cannot read what's outside that prescription bottle or that over-the-counter medicine bottle or whatever the case is. So I have to do the work. I have to do the work, which is why I'm able to show up week after week sharing in the wisdom because I take all of those hardships. I take all of those failures and I find value in them. It's like I'm mining for gold. I'm mining for the value so that I can show up here with you alive, having done the work, having done the work and being here with you to help you on your path, maybe avoid some of those circumstances, maybe avoid some of those, you know, situations that I've experienced. That's What I get to do every day as a coach, as a leadership trainer and development coach and curriculum writer and researcher and public academic and all the things, I get to do that because I have all these tools. to be able to turn any of that messy garbage, disastrous disappointments, failures, you know, rejection, all the things I get to come here and, um, refurbish, um, I don't know if that's the right word, but I get to come in with a new perspective, with a greater perspective so that I can help you on your path. And so that is what we're doing next. We're going to wrap up this incredible season. These seasons will always live on my website for sure. Head over to drdeniessimpson.com. You can hear these or you can watch these. I am very excited about the expansive perspective I'm taking right now on leadership. You know, I started in leadership pretty young, you know, was very excited about working. I very much was a girl who wanted to work and get a paycheck. For me, it was like I wasn't into sports. I wasn't into academics. I was just very much focused on my work ethic and being reliable and accountable and getting that check, honey. So at sixteen years old, I had a checking account, worked at Montgomery Ward, you know, ran the student store with my fellow DECA members. and was very much interested in the operational side of things, first and foremost. That's what attracted me to leadership. It was the operational side, the details of the job. And then I realized, oh, I also have visionary skills. Ooh, I didn't know I had that. Oh, then I can probably do this management thing. the supervisory thing, and then moving into some serious leadership roles in my career, and then went to study all the things so that I could be a highly effective transformational leader. And I felt I needed to research and understand uh, these populations and these variables and, you know, uh, was able to do that through a PhD in leadership studies. So I've been in this field a very long time and I have obsessed over this field and you for a very long time. And it's always nice to be in the pocket. I'm I'm always inspired by what's happening in our own backyard. I'm inspired by what's happening in our country. I'm always inspired in what's happening around the world. The good, the bad, the fucking ugly leadership, toxic leadership behaviors that we are seeing everywhere. So I'm always inspired because I'm a human living and leading and seeing and observing and studying and researching and coaching and training on this. So I'm always in the pocket, so to speak, because of my passion for this field. So as I am evolving as a human because of those external circumstances that are certainly impacting me, abso-fucking-lutely, like don't think I'm immune to any of this, right? I am right there in the middle of all of it with you. And so as I am evolving as a human, so does my perspective on leadership. How I show up here is because of the behind the scenes, the things I've been practicing and doing behind the scenes to be a better human, to show up in my growth and expansion, to be able to contribute wisely, meaningfully to this industry, to this field of study that I love so much. I have to do the work. So I'm not here in an ivory academic tower. No, thank you. I left that world so I can create my own world so that I can share this with the world and not just limited to a very specific certain paying group. No, no, no. That's not how I work. And that's not why I was inspired to go into business for myself. So I am here today, yet again, renewed. Oh my gosh. I am renewed. I even have my coffee mug today. It says renewed on it. Okay. I'm having, yes. Oops. For those of you who are listening to this, I'm holding my coffee mug to the camera so that you could see. I am a renewed human yet again. And this is what you're seeing as I'm closing out seasons. I'm starting new seasons. I'm closing out programs. I'm starting new programs. I am evolving because the world, life evolves. is forcing me to evolve and guess what i'm not doing this kicking and screaming i'm like let's go because that's too painful i cannot stay in that former self because that former person oh that was painful so okay life okay external circumstances okay i'm on that boat honey and i'm i'm getting i'm getting knocked around on that boat because those waves are so violent because of those external circumstances that are so chaotic and so crisis-driven. I have no control over any of that. But what I do have control over, hear this, hear this, this is the crux, this is the foundation, this is the through line in coaching. What I have control over is is how I view any situation, any context. I have that much power. Ooh, now that's intoxicating to know, don't you think? Because you too have power. You too have that ability. That is your superpower leader is you get to control how you view these circumstances. And listen, that doesn't take away from the hurt. It doesn't take away from the shittiness. It doesn't take away from the anger because like y'all know me, I got bookends. I got peace and anger over here. And I'm just like, okay, whatever. Uh, what book, what, what end is holding this book up today? Because I'm, I'm, I'm full of anger today. Right? So, so just know that you don't get to eliminate that. Huh? That's what's, that's what emotional maturity is. That's what emotional wealth is. It's like, Ooh, I can handle any circumstance. Doesn't mean I'm immune to the pain. Doesn't mean I'm immune to the, you know, anger and the bitterness and the resentment and all those things. I'm not immune to that. but I get to control how I use those emotions, how I get to see those circumstances, how I get to neutralize. Ooh, that's another superpower, baby, to neutralize that emotion so that you can calm the hell down, right? Because that brain, that gorgeous brain of yours, you're like, calm it down. We're going to neutralize some things right now. Chill the fuck out because we got some processing to do here. There's so many other nuances that are behind these processes that I'm sharing with you. I'm just simplifying this for the sake of our podcast show. But I just want you to know that I'm ready to close season three, this chapter right here, right now with you. Because I have evolved. I have grown, not just mentally, emotionally, but spiritually. Ooh, and I mean, let me tell you something. I am ready to contribute and to share all this goodness, all this wisdom that was hard earned, hard fought. I mean, let me tell you something. Even though I have a toolbox full of all these masterful strategies and tools, yeah, I'm not immune to the pain. I'm not immune to possible suffering. I'm not immune to the hardships of the world. No, I just get to use my tools and then be able to process what I need to process so that I can continue to lead my people, to continue to lead my collective, to continue to lead my employees. And that's what I want to share with you because you're not immune to the pain and suffering. Nope. Nope. But... Stick around here and you'll have the tools that you need to be able to navigate through any circumstance. That's the beauty of what we do here. So I want to share that live opportunities are coming. So excited for live podcasting with you. I'm seriously thinking of Thursdays at eleven a.m. Central. My my calendar is a little wider on Thursday morning. And so that may be a really good time for all of us. I'll keep you all posted on that. And also, I want to invite you into some monthly workshopping with me in a private setting, in a Zoom setting. It'll be free just so we can get to know each other because this podcast, although it reaches so many people, I don't get to have that one-on-one interaction with you. And I so desperately want it. So for those of you who are feeling lonely at the top, right? Because leadership can feel so damn lonely. Why? Because, well, first of all, you're an outlier, period, end of story. That could be period, end of story. But let me continue a little bit here and share with you why I think you're probably experiencing more loneliness than the average person. It's because nobody quite understands why. the responsibilities that you carry. And it's hard for them to understand who you are in this role because you show up in your leadership life, meeting expectations, meeting standards. And you may be in your private life, exhausted, overwhelmed, burnt out, and angry, right? And so you've been fragmenting yourself. Yep, you have been fragmenting your life. And it's exhausting. And these folks, your closest friends and family members, they don't understand what you're experiencing. But we do around here. We do. We know how to solve this problem of burnout. We know how to solve this problem of fragmentation. We know what you need to be whole and resourceful again. And that is why this pivot, this new direction, this new season that's approaching, season four, is going to be about connecting with you. So stick around, subscribe to this podcast, watch it everywhere and anywhere you can get your hands on it. Listen to it everywhere, especially on your favorite podcast platform. And you're going to want to stay close because I want to find connection with you. It's a two-way street around here. This is the relationship that I want to cultivate with my viewers and my listeners and my fellow leaders out here. So we're closing season three so we can open up season four. Listen, we're going to keep writing the chapters in this book, honey. Like this book ain't closed yet, babe. Like that. No, like sure. I can start a second book, but no, we're, we're, we're on a good stride. We've got chapters still to, to write in this one book. So we've got season four approaching. So stay close, stay tuned for what's coming up in season four. a lot of live connection and opportunities to be able to be in the same virtual energy space so that I can see you, you could see me, I can hear your voice, you can hear mine. Wouldn't that be great? I'm excited for season four and I'm happy that you are joining me for this journey. All right, leader. I'm now going to close out season three officially right here, right now with you. And I'm going to play us the outro and end our show. So listen to the new outro. It's exciting.
